Settled in 1623, Kittery is the oldest town in Maine. The first shipyard in the United States was built in Kittery in 1800, and shipbuilding continues today at the Portsmouth Naval Shipyard. Two forts (Fort McClary and Fort Foster) offer spectacular views of both the Piscataqua River and the Atlantic Ocean. Mark Twain is one of the many who regularly summered in this beautiful area.

The southernmost town in Maine, Kittery boasts one of the largest and most diverse outlet shopping centers in the country. You'll be sure to find bargains on clothing, toys, housewares...just about anything.
One of the many restaurants featuring the local delicacy.
